By accessing or using My Tattoo Expert (“MTE,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our website or services.
1. Platform Role & Disclaimer
My Tattoo Expert is a platform that helps clients connect with independent tattoo artists for booking and discovery. We don’t perform tattoo services ourselves, and the artists featured on our site aren’t employees of MTE. Because every artist runs their own business, they’re fully responsible for their licensing, health and safety practices, the tattoo work they provide, and the aftercare instructions they give. Our role is simply to help make the connection easier and provide a space where clients can find artists they feel excited to work with.
2. Deposits & Booking Policy
All bookings made through My Tattoo Expert require a non-refundable deposit. Deposit amounts may vary depending on the artist and design selected. Deposits secure the client’s time slot only and will be applied toward the final tattoo cost unless otherwise stated. Late cancellations, no-shows, or same-day reschedules automatically result in forfeiture of the deposit.
MTE processes deposits using Stripe, a secure third-party payment processor. MTE does not store full payment card details. Any remaining balances for tattoo services are paid directly to the tattoo artist.
3. TATTOOING RISKS, HEALTH DISCLOSURE & MEDICAL RESPONSIBILITY
Tattooing involves breaking the skin, which naturally comes with some risks. My Tattoo Expert doesn’t provide medical advice, and the artists you connect with through our platform work independently. By booking a tattoo, you agree to share any important medical information, allergies, medications, or skin sensitivities with your chosen artist ahead of time. You also understand and accept the possible risks that come with getting a tattoo, including irritation, allergic reactions, or other unexpected outcomes, and you agree that MTE isn’t responsible for any medical complications that may arise.
We offer a helpful Tattoo Care page that we ask all clients to review both before and after their appointment. It’s designed to give you clear guidance on taking care of your tattoo, but it shouldn’t replace professional medical advice. Always follow the aftercare instructions given by your artist, and check in with a healthcare provider if anything feels off or concerning.
4. Communication Consent
By submitting your contact information through My Tattoo Expert, you expressly consent to receive transactional and promotional communications via automated SMS messages, email, and phone calls. These communications may include appointment confirmations, reminders, follow-ups, and marketing messages. Message frequency may vary, and message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP and obtain assistance by replying HELP. Opting out does not affect transactional messages related to active bookings.
5. California Age Requirement
You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to book any service through My Tattoo Expert. Tattoo artists require valid government-issued identification prior to providing services.
6. Intellectual Property
All website content, marketing materials, funnels, automations, systems, software configurations, and proprietary processes are the exclusive property of My Tattoo Expert and its operating company. Unauthorized use, duplication, scraping, reverse engineering, distribution, or resale is strictly prohibited.
7. Limitation of Liability (California Enforceable)
To the fullest extent permitted by California law, My Tattoo Expert shall not be liable for tattoo dissatisfaction, artist cancellations, allergic reactions, health complications, payment disputes, third-party service outages, marketing performance, or income expectations. All use of the platform is at your sole risk.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless My Tattoo Expert, its owners, operators, affiliates, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses arising from your booking, tattoo services, disputes with artists, misuse of the platform, or third-party service usage.
9. California Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of California.
10. Changes to These Terms
My Tattoo Expert reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
REFUND & DISPUTE RESOLUTION
All deposits made through My Tattoo Expert are strictly non-refundable. Deposits compensate for marketing costs, administrative processing, and reserved appointment time. No refunds will be issued for cancellations, no-shows, same-day reschedules, artist availability changes, personal emergencies, or dissatisfaction with design preferences.
If a dispute arises, you must first attempt to resolve the matter directly with the tattoo artist. If unresolved, a written dispute may be submitted to [email protected]. My Tattoo Expert will review transaction records and platform activity. Decisions regarding deposit disputes are final and binding. MTE does not mediate tattoo quality, artistic style, or medical outcomes.
CHARGEBACK & STRIPE PROTECTION
By submitting payment through My Tattoo Expert, you authorize the transaction and acknowledge that all deposits are non-refundable and digitally recorded using IP address, device, and timestamp verification. Any chargeback filed after a confirmed booking constitutes a breach of these Terms.
If a chargeback is initiated, My Tattoo Expert may submit consent records, SMS and email confirmations, IP logs, and booking verification to Stripe and the financial institutions involved. Fraudulent chargeback activity may result in permanent suspension of platform access and reporting to Stripe, card networks, and relevant financial institutions.
ARTIST SAFETY, HARASSMENT & ABUSE POLICY
My Tattoo Expert is committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for both clients and artists. To support that, we do not allow behavior such as harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct, threats, hate speech, intoxication, or any kind of unwanted physical contact. This expectation applies to all interactions before, during, and after your tattoo session.
If a client’s behavior compromises the safety or well-being of an artist or anyone involved, the appointment may be canceled and the deposit may be forfeited. In more serious cases, access to the platform may be permanently restricted, and incidents may be reported to the appropriate authorities when necessary. Artists always have the right to decline or stop a session if they feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
